“Anything I could do to solve a problem, I did, no matter how small. We got a faster internet connection, we got the boxes taken out of the back bathroom, we convinced our funder to change their targets, we got carrots for our meetings instead of cookies, we changed the printer defaults to do double sided printing.” Patrick, I love this advice!
I’ve also found that small things will add up to make a big difference – improving dashboard formatting just a little to make information easier to use, teaching program staff a few basic tricks on Excel to make their program-related spreadsheets flow better, showing them color-coding features in Outlook so they can use their calendar to its full potential, sharing fax machine shortcuts, etc. Time-savers make everyone’s day-to-day work much easier, which leaves time (and mental energy!) for evaluation.

I love these! I do similar work Patrick(CQI and Evaluation), I’m very interested in learning more about the work that you do in future posts! The best way I heard it put recently was “I’m here to help you and not hound you” and I make concerted efforts to walk the walk! 🙂
