Probably — here’s the thought process. (1) Change over time works well in line charts and column charts. Unless you want to show “calculations,” i.e., the percent change over time, or the difference between exactly 2 points in time (before/after). There are specific charts that work well for those other calculations. (2) Every dataset needs different context added. You might need annotations (call-out boxes); uncertainty shading (e.g., shading 1 standard deviation or 1 confidence interval above and below each line); etc. (3) Depending on the number of groups you want to compare, you may or may not need small multiples. Are you taking online courses with me by any chance? If so, this would be a perfect question for Office Hours, which I hold nearly every week.
